I tend to do a lot of typing with one thumb. I find that I do the typical dopy
thing of typing while I am walking along. I hold the phone in my right hand and
type with the same thumb. This is where we blind guide dog users have a slight
advantage over our sighted counterparts. At least my guide dog is still
watching where we are going while I am typing. As soon as my left hand is free
of the harness handle though, I quickly revert to holding the phone with my
left hand and using my pointer and middle fingers of my right hand.

I can't imagine doing much typing or anything much without headphones though. I
think my wife would go mad if I constantly had VO chirping away while we were
driving along.
