Hello Less,

1.
Let me be perfectly clear, iDisk is/was a separate service from iCloud. I
know it's a little confusing but Apple has been working on different
products that sometimes appear to converge then diverge, from time-to-time.

So, iCloud will not be ending, in any way shape or form, on June 30, 2012.
Only the iDisk which, if you don't use, you will not notice.

2.
As for usernames are concerned, each cloud service or service provider
requires that one has some way of being identified, right? With Apple, one
needs an Apple ID. The same is true for Google and Microsoft is no
different.

The Windows ID I spoke of will be used to log you into the Skydrive. This
is completely separate from any Apple ID needed to download the app onto
your device.

All things being equal, you will go to the Apple App Store to download the
Skydrive App, using your Apple ID to do so as usual. When you're ready to
begin using the actual SkyDrive, you will need to login to the system with
your Windows ID.

Mark

Mark, thanks for this info. Two questions. Are you saying that iCloud will
no longer work after June 30 for backup purposes? Secondly, you mentioned
needing a Windows ID? Won't our current ID for the App Store work? Just a
little confused.
