Hello Brian,

I just realized that I have never stored Contacts on just my phone, alone.
That is to say, I have always synced my Contacts with either Outlook, the
Mac Addressbook, or iCloud.

Why is this significant, because if you are currently syncing your Contacts
with iCloud (recommended), then to quickly erase all of your Contacts from
the phone at once, you would merely go into the Settings area of your iOS
device, then to Mail Contacts Calendar area, then turn off the Contact Sync.
Doing this will cause the iOS device to ask if you want to remove all of the
Contacts on the device, itself. In your case you would say yes to that
question. Then of course you could logon to iCloud and delete all of the
Contacts there. Conversely, you could log onto iCloud via a web browser and
simply delete the Contacts which would remove them from the phone.

Of course, if you synced your iOS device to a computer, you could simply
delete the Contacts from the computer and then sync the device.

But, if you only have Contacts on your iOS device, the thinking is that you
don't want to easily delete them all; thus, I do not know of a way to
simultaneously delete them all without an external source as I have
described above.

Perhaps someone else knows a way.

Personally, I recommend that you turn on iCloud Contact syncing on your iOS
device, sync, then turn off syncing to get the prompt as described above,

Mark
