Facebook by nature is a social site. The more friends you add to your friends list, the more you will get on your newsfeed. The way I got a good start on that was to look at the people on my friends' lists to find out if we had friends in common.
This app is a very basic app that allows people who have friends on their lists to check their status and friends' status. It will not allow you to add new friends.
