Hi Paul, I downloaded this app. The sound you are hearing is a scroll of advertisements across the top of the screen. Every time the ad changes you will hear that three tone sound. If you use the side switch to mute the iPhone you can use most of this app. Please be aware that not every thing is accessible with voice over....but about 90% is.
