Finally, for the most part, it is VO accessible. The unlabeled buttons were
in calculating the points. I needed sighted assistance to indicate how the
buttons were arranged. Here is the configuration of these buttons: first row
going from left to right-
Protein with an edit field and then carbs with an edit field. The next row
across from left to right consisted of fat with an edit field and then fiber
with an edit field. The third row had only one button, which said bytes with
an edit field. The other area that had unlabeled buttons was in the
"activity calculator." From left to right the buttons represented one's
weight with an edit field and the time with an edit field. The selection for
the level of exercise was accessible. There is a pocket guide, which listed
all of the foods with their points and a labeled button to add it to the
daily point total. I explored the "Add" button, which allows one to access
their log action page. Here one can view the used weekly bites, add to their
log, search the pocket guide, and a check list area. Because I haven't
really begun using this app to track my points, I can't report back on how
accessible it is. However, it does look promising, which their web page is
not. I have been after Weight Watcher's since 11/2010 to make things more
accessible to us, with no success. At least, those of us who are visually
impaired or totally blind can use this life plan better than ever before. I
am going to contact the developers and see if they will label the buttons
that are not, and then this will be an awesome app. I still have some bones
to pick with Weight Watcher's, which has just launched a new pedometer (not
accessible) and a contest that the visually impaired cannot participate in,
but that is for another list to assist in changing their ways. If you are a
Weight Watcher or thinking about getting involved with their latest life
plan, I would consider purchasing this app. It is their best weight plan yet
and it is tied to the glycemic index for those who need to watch their
glucose intake. HTH.
