Thanks very much for your informative response. Do you know of any relatively simple apps that do allow basic cut and paste type editing, please? I have Hokusai already, but it's a bit overkill for what I want to do sometimes.

Only your Device memory will limit the size. Yes, List Recorder lets you send the recording by email as a attachment. Currently List Recorder does not have editing functions. I say currently because the app developer is constantly updating and improving the app. With each new version large feature improvements happen.
