Perhaps you should explain a bit more exactly what you want to do. What source are you playing the music from that you then wish to record from your iPhone? You can't play music and record it on the same device unless you use a streaming app like Ootunes or TuneIn, etc.
If you are streaming something that you wish to record, you will likely have to use a patch cord and record what is coming out of the earphone jack into a computer or another device.
