Hi all. Yesterday I had something odd happen when I was replying to a
message from my iPhone 4S. I double-tapped the message area and then
dictated a message. When I discovered that my dictated message was
placed somewhere in the middle of the quoted part of the message I was
replying to. So, I figured that maybe when I double-tapped, my cursor
wasn't at the beginning even though it usually is. I canceled that
message and started my reply again, this time making sure the cursor was
at the top of the message area, above my signature and the quoted text
of the message. Again, when my dictated text was written, it was in the
middle of the quoted reply. After doing this 3 times I gave it up and
just replied to the message from my PC. However the odd thing is I tried
this with another message from my iPhone and the reply worked fine as it
always has. So, in short, this has happened to me with only one message
so far, and all the rest have been fine. I don't know what was different
about the message where it wasn't working. They were both direct
messages to me, they were both normal replies, and yet I can't figure it
out. The only thing I can think of is that maybe one message was sent as
html and the other as text, but I don't see why that would make a
difference in where my cursor is placed when replying. Furthermore, I
double-checked to make sure my cursor was in the right place and still
it didn't work for that one message.
Go figure.
