It's really not a big deal since it happens so infrequently, but you could just hit the delete key or let someone know off line if they've sent a blank message to the list. I know the default is that Google Groups doesn't send you a message that you've posted yourself, so you may not know that you accidentally sent a blank message to the list, so pointing that out to someone is a nice thing to do, but it could be done off line instead of going out to everyone on the list. Like I said, not a big deal, but maybe something to think about.
