With bluetooth, the earphone or what ever has to be compliant with a
certain protocol in order to have voiceover routed through it. What ends
up happening if it isn't will be that only specific things will come
through the headset, this was the case with older bluetooth devices
where only calls and such could be herd via the headset.
Here's a little info about the protocol in question taken from this
link. It's a pretty neat read.

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile allows high quality audio (stereo or
mono) to be streamed from one device to another over a Bluetooth
connection. This is commonly used to play music wirelessly from iOS to a
wireless headset or a compatible car audio system.
Perhaps it's a bit more than A2DP that allows voiceover to be herd but
this is also the case with my Motorola h3 I used to use for an older
nokia. On the IPhone, only calls come through while on the 6682, I could
here talks as well.
Take care.

Subject: Bluetooth earphone and voiceover question
Hi list,
I have bought the bluetooth earphone.
I got it online in the store selling apple products.
I have found out that voiceover doesn't go throughthe earphone. It does
only when I am on call, but when I go through items or other things it
goes through phone speaker.
Is there any chance to make voiceover go through earphone all the time
when needed?
Thank you for your help.
With kind regards
Maria
