This way of interacting with Voiceover is used in Garageband on the iPad. you can keep Voiceover running and use the instrument area just like you would without VO going. Ie. If you were to hit a guitar string without this feature you would have to double tap on the string. With this feature going you only do a single tap on the screen to activate the string.
