You would not be able to since the front camera on the iPad 2 and, for that
matter, even the front camera on the new iPad as well as on the iPhone only
has 1 Megapixels. This is the same as on the iPod Touch 4th Generation and
these cameras are designed for basically one thing and that is to allow you
to have video conversations with Skype or Facetime. They do not have a good
enough resolution to do OCR and are marginal even for barcode scanning. The
3 Megapixel camera on the iPhone 3GS works, but you get best results
starting with the iPhone 4 which has a 5 Megapixel back camera. I don't even
think that most of these OCR apps allow you to switch to the front camera,
after all, they are designed with the assumption that you can see what you
photograph and hence the back camera is used so that you can look at the
screen and see the page. The new iPad also has the same 5 Megapixel back
camera as the iPhone 4.
