I had a game with this. I set all mail box accounts on the phone to imap; that made them synch with the server every time it checked. That is - once I'd had the pc on and downloaded all the mail, so it wasn't now on the server, the phone checked and said "Empty list" when it found no mail there to display. That's what I wanted and now finally got.
