Oh yes, this has nothing to do with this email title but does. When I do a
recording on voice recorder it turns down VO. Must I use headphones as with
phone calling to prevent this?

I think you might be right Tom, now you say it, I think I've had that
problem after using Zello before.

I was thinking that too. I did clear everything from memory in the app
switcher. Still had the problem. I think the problem might be with the app
Zellow. I did go in there and noticed that the speaker phone was off. I
clicked it on and everything's good again. I did clear it earlier in the
app switcher though, so not too sure about it yet. Thanks, everyone.

Hello,

Actually, some apps place the sound output in the earpiece rather than the
iPhone speaker. When running one of these apps and then leaving the app by
pressing home, the command for the iPhone sound to remain in the earpiece
remains active until you do enough tasks that the memory manager closes the
app completely. It is quicker to go in to the app switcher, double-tap and
hold on an app name until you hear VO say editing apps, and then double-tap
the app which has locked your sound in the earphone to remove it from the
active memory.

Personally, I think this is a bug with iOS 5.1. Try going into sounds in
settings, and swiping the volume down and back up to what you wanted to be
and then exiting, you should find things come back to normal. It hasn't
happened to me for a while, but sometimes it did after I had been in an
audio program, such as audible, or wants voice-over had died. Don't know
what it is, and I think it might only be me who experiences it. But give
that a try. Hope it works.

well, I'm using the iphone 4S. The volume is stuck on very low. It's
showing 100 percent but I have to hold it up to my ear to get anything out
of it. I'm sure something is wrong because once in a while I can get full
speaker volume back. Sometimes after using Siri or after inserting and
pulling out the headphone jack. Any ideas on what I can do before calling
apple support?
