I have no trouble reading continuously in iBOOKS. Keep in mind that you first have to feel around the screen until to are actually focussed on the text of the book. Everything's out on the same screen so it's possible to be focussed on the page chooser and other things. Once you'r definitely on text, you simply swipe down once with two fingers. That should start you off. It's not quite like the Kindle experience.
