I'm trying to make playlists from ITunes on my computer that I want to sync
to my iPhone. A tech was remotely controlling my computer this morning
through Jaws and it appeared what we wanted to copy was indeed on the phone.
In fact, it looked like we unchecked something we had already checked and it
did remove it from the phone. Now There is nowhere on the phone where I can
find those files which I presumed transferred over. When I hit on Deidre's
iPhone in ITunes on the computer it appears that what we wanted to go to the
phone is there. Is it possible it has not downloaded yet? I went to the
Music App and I Tunes App on the phone and see nowhere where my personal
playlists would show. I found a tab in one of those apps that said Downloads
and it was empty.
Below is something a viphone lister said but I can't seem to see how to do
this For one thing there are different screens in ITunes on the computer I
think, and Jaws often does not read what is there. There are also things
that say Deidre's I phone read only then another place where it simply says
deidre's I phone and that seems to be the one where you can see things, as
well as in a tree view of all my music.
Is this a setting issue? Nothing on the phone in the Music or I
Tunes U settings is off that might be causing problems. I can't say yet what
specifically is the key in doing this kind of copying from the computer with
the phone plugged in.

go to your music through windows explorer and control c to copy, then go to
iTunes and
when you are looking at your playlist, hit control v and it will add it to
your playlist and to the mail
music library.
In fact, my wife has a folder on her computer that contains all of the songs
she wants on her phone, and I can select them all ( control A), copy them
(control c), then paste them (control v) to her
playlist in iTunes. It will not duplicate the songs she already has in
there, since the path is the same.
Hope this helps,

I've now heard the podcast and got it into my mind how useful those
keystrokes can be.
I hadn't realized though that, now I've made a playlist then added it to my
phone as a playlist, I now have an
album which (because it's in the Compilations (the Best of) in Itunes it
doesn't show up under the artist's
name. The rest in that playlist do show up correctly. Must I live with
this or can I do anything to show that
this album is by a certain artist?
In addition, if I choose to delete the playlist from my phone or computer,
do I keep the tracks and artists
intact on the phone and computer?
I'd like to understand a little more on this so that I make the right
choices.
Thanks for any further additional explanations you or anyone else can give
on this senario.

Start by pressing control 1 to make sure that you are in the music library.
Next, press control F to go to the search box.
Hit F6 and this will bring you to a tree view.
Arrow down until you get to your playlist.
F6 until you get to the list of songs in the playlist.

Hi Tom,
OK. I've made my playlist (which I hadn't done on the computer before), but
now I want to check what's in
that playlist and don't seem able to do it. Presumably I check Music then
Playlists, but if you can help me
from that point, I'd be grateful!
Thanks!

If I could, let me suggest that the easiest way for me to manage the music I
want on my iPhone is to
make a playlist of the songs that I want.
Then, when it comes to sync time. I just select the playlist I want.
You can add songs to your playlist with the application key and go to add to
playlist and direct it to
your playlist.
If you want to delete a song from your playlist, just hit delete when you
are focused on the playlist
song list.
