It's about as powerful as the iPad Mini 2, which is about as powerful as an iPhone 5S. By today's standards it's a bit behind the times, but it should be okay. Consider spending the extra hundred and getting a full-sized iPad Air 2, or even the $399 iPad Air. Both are a bit larger, but they have much better internals.
