It would be, provided one could get a fingerprint, so far none of my fingers print, have tried multiple times with no good results, finally gave up, have too many things on plate at the moment, job transition being the largest bite.
I still think I must have typed them off over 38 years of transcription. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of M. One of the companies that has already signed onto the Apple Pay train, as it were, is Panera Bread, a fast-casual restaurant that just happens to be one of my most favorites as, in my opinion, their coffee is second to none. So, before going to the restaurant, I opened up the Passbook app and elected to use the credit card already on file with Apple. Part of this process includes verifying the use of the card, with the Passbook app, itself. In my case, I was given two methods of verifying the card. I could (1) download a company-branded wallet app or (2) call the credit card company and verify my information with a representative. As I am an app minimalist, I decided to call the company. After authorizing Passbook with the credit card company, I received a notification on the phone that the credit card had been authorized and was now ready for use with Passbook. Two more things to note: 1. I have Passbook setup for use via cell signal and 2. I have authorized Touch ID for use with the Passbook app. After doing all of this. I went into the restaurant and ordered some coffee. After the cashier rang up my order, with the phone locked and the display off, I simply placed my finger on the Touch ID/Home button and waved the phone just above The transaction terminal (where a sighted person would swipe a credit card and/or sign her/his name. As I did this, as the phone passed over the terminal, the screen came on displaying the passbook app. At approximately the same time, the phone vibrated once and the transaction was complete. It took less than 5 seconds from the time I placed my finger on the Touch ID/home button while passing the phone over the terminal to when the vibration was felt. Very, very, very impressive, to say the least. I only hope more businesses will begin using Apple Pay. Please note that I have no store-specific apps installed on my 6 Plus.
