The issue really isn't whether or not I can read the new information for nap
before I updated. Sure, everybody can do that. But everybody doesn't, and that
includes people who write for media. Every once in a while, you see a complaint
in a mainstream magazine about App updates screwing things up. Back in the day
when you had to connect with iTunes in order to update, there was an easy, or
relatively easy, fix. But now that many millions of people do not use computers
to update at all, such a fix does not exist. It should be something that Apple
could help us deal with, but having a way for us to keep the old app on the
system until we figure out that the new app is good. Then we simply delete the
old, archived app. Truly, Apple engineers are smart enough to figure this out.
Yes, such archived apps would take up space. It would be our problem if we ran
out of space because we had too many archived apps that we did not get rid
of.The problem is even worse when it is an accessibility issue. By the time
you've upgraded and figured out that the app broke something badly, it is too
late. And if all of us waiting until George upgraded, nobody ever what, because
we would all be waiting. The solution is for Apple to make it possible for us
to keep old versions of apps on our devices somehow archive, until we tell them
we want to get rid of them. Shirley, Cupertino is smart and could do this.
