I also manage my cellular data on my iPhone. I have  Verizon 
wireless, when I got the 90% mark of my data allowance, my iPhone said that I 
have used 1.7 GB.other people have reported that this data usage does not match 
with other carriers. I have read articles in the past stating that verizon  
wireless says   that we use more data than what we  actually use, not sure if 
those articles are basing off this issue  that some of us are experiencing with 
the iPhones. Turning off cellular data will increase battery life as there is 
no internet signal incoming  or outgoing  from the device.Regards, Feliciano
