This is the first helpful message I have ever received from Apple Accessibility when I have sent in a report of an issue. So, for those who are still looking for the official Apple resources concerning iTunes 12.1, here it is:
Hello, Apologies for not getting back to you before now. We have determined that some individuals who use iTunes 12.1 with third-party screen readers on Windows 64-bit systems may experience improved functionality by uninstalling their currently installed version of iTunes and installing the version found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1784. We recommend the following article for steps on how to uninstall iTunes: http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1923. It is a best practice to restart the computer prior to reinstalling iTunes.
