Hi all. I only posted about this in that I thought it would be ported over to
apple. This is what I was told by someone at Verizon, but in the end, we will
only know if and when it happens. I didn’t mean to get us off track on Android
and Tom, I know this is not what you were trying to do. Your description of
what you have done with this suite of programs is very welcoming. So, I
appologize if my information about it being ported to apple turns out to be
incorrect.

etc.

Hi. Back in June, 2012, I was part of a focus group that got to test a suite of
apps that were running on Verizon Android phones, and though I thought the app
suite was a nice concept and was pretty cool, I wasn't wowed by it. At the CSUN
conference in 2013, I became aware that this suite was to be called Velasense
and I had a chance to test it again; in fact, I've been in regular contact with
one of the developers ever since and have met with him to check it out and see
how it's evolved. Today, I met with that same developer and one of his
teammates to see the release candidate for Velasense which will roll out very
soon. As a confirmed Apple/IOS/Voiceover fan, I have to say that what I saw of
Velasense was pretty darn impressive. To be sure, there are still some things
that need to be tightened up and some usability tweaks that could be
implemented, but the developers showed me and my coworker that they're very
committed to developing a good, solid package and that they're really
responsive to end-user feedback. Would I switch to the package after it rolls
out? No, not right away at least; I've got too much time and money invested to
throw away my iPhone 6 and all the apps that I've bought over the past five
years. Until today, I've been telling my students who are struggling and
frustrated with Android phones and Talkback to scrap what they've got and
switch to Apple. Now, if they're already on Verizon, and they have a decent
phone, especially something like the Galaxy S5, they don't have to switch; they
will soon be able to go to the Google Play store or whatever it's called,
download and install Velasense, run the quick tutorial and get right into
Velasense fairly quickly. Just as there are alternatives to JAWS or
Window-Eyes, Velasense could represent a viable alternative to the Apple
ecosystem, and healthy competition is always a good thing in my view.

Hi, this is a suite of products in one app that allows people to do a number of
things like get directions, do facial recognition, read bar codes and much
more. I think it is currently only on Verizon, but I may well be wrong about
that. I am told by someone at Verizon that this is now on Android and will be
ported to Apple devices.

There are two links below.

First is a short video that gives you information about what this app does. The
second is a short description of the app.
