I'd never done anything with a battery charger before, but I recently got curious, and I wanted one with a lightning connector or cable. My buying place of choice is Amazon here in the United States, and I recently purchased a few of these to try, and will likely give whatever I don't want to a family member or two. Best of all, all the packages so far were small enough that they could be put directly in my mailbox by the USPS mail carrier, and the orders were fulfilled by Amazon. They ranged in price from just over $21 to almost $56, including shipping.

I misunderstood the first unit I bought, but kind of like it, anyway, so will likely keep the product. It doesn't have a built-in Apple cable, but comes with a cable one may use: [Apple Certified] UNU Superpak 10000mAh 3.1A Portable Charger External Battery Pack with 2-in-1 Lightning Cable 8Pin and MicroUSB Cable for iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5S 5, Galaxy S6 S5 and other Android Smartphone - Matte Black

The next charger I purchased, and the site did warn about this possibility, but the small lightning cable, due to its design in being hidden away in the battery pack, just doesn't work with the case I have on my iPhone, and I'll not likely be taking it off every time I want to charge the unit: [Apple Certified] Brightech - PocketEnergy2T - Portable Battery Charger with Integrated Lightning and Micro-USB Cables - 2600 mAh Battery Cell - Perfect For Travel and Road Warriors - The Most Convenient and Smart Way to Charge Your Phone On The Go - Apple Certified

I'll likely keep the last three chargers I bought. The first two, I have tried them, and they do work with my phone in its case, and I might even carry the smaller one, which will be the middle one in this next list, with me. As for the last one that will be listed below, I just saw and purchased it today, doing so because it claims to have both an Apple connector, as well as a connector to be plugged into the wall for charging, and the product reviews were very positive. None of them that I have looked into buying come with a lightning cable. You have to use your own, which is what I do with the Anker Astro that I was
given for Christmas.

Subject: External Battery & Lightening Cable

Hi Everyone,

I purchased an external battery pack for my 5s. The advertisement indicated it works with all Iphones. They did not send a lightening cable. Can I use
my lightening cable without worrying about damaging my phone?

Thank you in advance,

Lynda
