let me do a couple things the 5 is turned off and not on mains power.  Also I 
should have been a bit clearer.  It's a headset I am trying to get the 6 plus 
to see.  It saw the amazon basics keyboard just fine but it does not see the 
h800 headset when in bluetooth mode.
I turned the bluetooth on the 6 plus off and back on without success.  Might I 
still be missing something?
