Hi Linda,
You have to double tap on the friend request, which takes you to more
information.
You then double tap on the View Profile link, which takes you to a profile
page. You can accept their friend request from there.
I'm not sure if Facebook did this because I feel it's getting too ridiculous
with people friending pretty much anyone, as well as people trolling
Facebook for hook ups and the like.
I have a friend who's been solicited five times this week alone.
Anyway, Like I said, I'm not sure if this is a bug with the app, or if this
is Facebook's way of helping us look more deeply into the friends we accept
instead of just blindly accepting friend requests.

Hi, I have had several friend requests in the past few days. When I tap to
accept the request, I receive a message saying the action cannot be
completed at this time. I am using an iphone 52, and the lateest versions of
facebook, facebook messenger and IOS8.2
