Although I have not fixed my friend’s phone yet, I did connect a bluetooth keyboard to my 6plus and discovered that quick nav was on by default. I turned quick nav off and everything worked beautifully.
I didn’t think of quick nav because I didn’t know it was available on an I Phone. thanks for the help.
