Have you deleted the old one from your phone? In iCloud Settings, you should see a Delete Account button. This will remove the account from your device, it won't erase it outright and completely. You'd choose to leave everything (contacts, calendar events, etc) on your phone, when prompted. Once done, sign in with your new account and choose to merge all your data.
