When you say "clearly they were not", what do you mean? Were you using a virtual or bluetooth keyboard? This almost sounds like what happens when you're trying to use the virtual touch screen keyboard while a bluetooth keyboard is still in the vicinity and paired to your iPhone. This may also be related to the focus bug that you see in Safari and other apps. If so, I'm sure someone will weigh in on this quickly.

Also, you might want to just give the version of IOS 8 you're running. I've seen situations where people think they're running the latest, but maybe they missed an update.

Hi Everyone,

I am using the latest version of iOS 8. I just went into the iTunes store on my
iPhone 6 to write a review of one of my favorite podcasts. I couldn't seem to
get any of the edit fields to work. VO would announce that they were editing,
but clearly they were not! Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any work
arounds? Any enlightenment would be most appreciated! Thanks
