I am just curious whether in many European countries you still have to pay extra in order to use your iPhone or other mobile phone as a hotspot. It seems to me that the United States is one of the few countries left where carriers don't allow this. I think it must be almost 10 years where carriers in Canada charged extra for that, it's been no problem ever since I have had my first iPhone 4 in 2010. I also think that not all carriers in the US do this, I believe on T-Mobil you can use your iPhone as a hot spot without extra charges. Not sure why carriers care how you use your mobile data, if I have 2 Gb and I want to use it by connecting my laptop via my iPhone and download some huge files then that should be my problem.
