Hi, i also had this problem.
I found the problem, was with the charging cable.
both my charging cables, that i had been using successfully for well over a
year before updating, suddenly stopped working correctly.
The Donging sound, was my phone connecting and disconnecting.
I had to buy 2 new cables, and that solved the problem.
you can test this, by looking at your status bar, every time it makes that
sound.

Howdy folks,
Ever since updating to 8.3 my phone every 10 minutes or so makes the refresh
sound and the little bonk noise like there’s nothing to refresh.
This happens when i’m using it, while it’s locked and i’m not using it, and
when I’m listening to anything. It doesn’t matter what app i’m using and
killing everything in the app switcher doesn’t make a difference. I haven’t
seen this mentioned anywhere else and I’m wondering if anyone else has.
