You have to find the keypad button in the active call screen and double tap it,
your keypad is simply hidden and double tapping that button will unhide it. It
is part of the buttons like Mute, Speakerphone, Keypad, End Call, not sure off
the top of my head which order they are in.

Subject: Calling a number from iphone contacts not showing keypad when
returning back to phone app IOS 8.3

Hello all,
When calling a number from contacts and returning back to the home
screen while the call is in progress on IOS with VoiceOver, I recall
that IOS use to show the keypad and other options when returning back
to the active call. However, now with IOS 8.3 and VoiceOver when I
return to the phone app via the app switcher or double tap on phone
and find the keypad via the tabs at the bottom, IOS acts as though
the call has ended even though it is in progress. The feature of
showing the keypad when calling a contact was useful for example when
one needs to call into an automated system but they may want to search
out information or perform another action on the phone while on a
call.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior that can suggest a workaround or
is this a bug?
