Thanks much for the link to that podcast. It did the trick. I'm happy to report that you can now configure your Echo via http://echo.amazon.com . This must be fairly new as I've been to that address in the past and there was no setup possible at that time. This works great as long as you are comfortable with your screen reader and using your mouse cursor.
What I find annoying is that despite my emails and tweets to Amazon regarding this issue, I was never advised of this alternate way of configuring the Echo. I still insist they need to make the IOS app accessible but at least this is a very usable alternative.
