Although I have had Filer since I have had an iPhone, when the 4 first came
out, I have never studied how to use it properly, only using it as is needful.
So, problems with the "Help" file I cannot answer, however, I can say how i
manage Zip/Rar and some other tiles using this app. So, I have a Zip file,
perhaps in mail as an attachment, I choose to open it in Filer. Assuming you
have not created a protocol in Filer as to where new files should go, they will
probably arrive in the first level foler, (this can be managed if you find it
necessary), flick right until you find your Zip file. Doubletap on it and you
will hear a sound warning, as if you flick once to the right, the first option
will be "unarchive". Doubletap on that and you will be put back into your list
of files again. Assuming you have not altered anything in Filer Settings, you
should land back on the Zip file, and may need to flick around to find your
newly unarchived file. By the way, I have mine set to delete the original Zip
file, and so I land back on the unzipped one instead which is easier. Oce you
have VO announce the text file, doubletap and hold. (the passthrough gesture)
and you will be offered all possible options available on your phone for
dealing with this sort of file. VDR will appear in this list. Doubletap the app
of your choice and voila the unzipped book should appear in that app, ready to
go.
It would save some trouble is Winston could make is possible for BDR to
open Zip documents, but, for now, filer will do. plus, because Filer can deal
with various types of files, it is a useful app to have onboard.
