Hello, Jen. I have solved this issue with two apps.

First, there is an app called Kruptos which is free (last time I checked) 
and gives you the opportunity to clean up temporary files. There is also an 
app called Battery Doctor. It was also free last time I checked, and, 
though it can be a bit of an adventure to navigate, it offers the same 
service plus a refresh of the phone's memory.
