I don't know why things changed, or exactly when, but it used to be that a lot of apps that display rtf files would do exactly what you want. Somewhere along the line, though, they started not working correctly. You can't flick to anything, and everything appears as one big chunk of text. I'm not sure why this happened, but I believe that some kind of change in iOS did this. My only suggestion is to maybe give Voice Dream Writer a try.
