To add to what Ben said, with an iPod Touch you can connect to the internet with WiFi, but only with WiFi. So, if you are out and about and not near a WiFi connection, then you don't have internet access.
With an iPod Touch, you can listen to music and audio books, podcasts, Kindle books, streamed audio and video content from the internet, etc.. You can pair up Bluetooth devices such as headphones and keyboards -- like I am doing right now. And you can set reminders, browse the web, take notes, and read and write email. This message is being written on a fifth gen iPod Touch using a Bluetooth keyboard. As you might imagine, you can do more with an iPod Touch than you can with either an iPod Shuffle or iPod Nano. Of course you won't be able to use it to make or receive phone calls (Smile). Oh, the iPod Touch does not have GPS. I will also mention that there hasn't been a new iPod Touch brought out in several years. Also, the current iPod Touch might be underpowered for some apps that are now available.
