Have you given Microsoft Outlook a spin? I’ve only used it on the iPhone and surprisingly enough, I’ve found it to be a very accessible and overall pleasant experience. I would have to imagine that their iPad version is at the same level of accessibility.
I recall reading some security issues with the Outlook app when it first came out, but if that’s not a concern to you, then it may be what you’re looking for. I currently have two exchange accounts and one iMap account configured through it. The one issue I have is in the calendar’s agenda view. Voiceover reads an appointment’s date before reading the actual app details when flicking through. This is superfluous since you can jump to a day by heading which announces the day anyway. I’ve written the Outlook support team about this. Hoefully they’ll address it in a future update. I’m hopeful as they have made Voiceover improvements in the past. The list of messages in the email program for example show the list of messages in the left hand window and the messages one by one in the right window. For example, in the left window you might see New Topic 7 messages in thread. Double tapping on it will then show the messages in the right window with the oldest message in the thread already highlighted. Just double tap that and the message opens. What I like is in the left window when your looking at the list of topics or threads if you like that word better. When you have split screen mode turned off, It would be like looking at your mail on your iPhone. I like the split screen for that.
