I'm not sure how to fix your current problem, but I just move my Gmail
into the trash folder and let Google delete it for me after 30 days.
Do you know if you're using POP or IMAP? What you describe could happen
if you're running POP, and you have it configured to leave your messages
on the server.

Hi all,
For some reason, I have deleted all of the mail in my gMail inbox, and it will
come back as new messages. I tried deleting the trash box and they still coming
back. Any ideas on how to get rid of it for good?
Thank you so much!
