Just read the subject and am probably waffling. Sorry about that. According to the subject, if you no longer wish the divorcee to share your subscription, remove him or her from family sharing. The family plan works on that and is in fact required in order to sign up for the family plan.

Oh, and as for whether the members can sign up for their own account, that
would be pointless. So no I don't think you would be able to do that either.
Also, I suspect if the organizer cancels the subscription, the members will no
longer have access to their own account, except for any purchased and matched
content as well as the features available for everyone with an Apple ID such as
Beats 1 Radio.

Hi Keith
All we know is that once the organizer signs up to the family plan, anyone in
their group will have their individual accounts, with all their own purchases
and matched content if available. So, while your guess is as good as mine at
the moment, I should not think so. The idea is to share the organizer's
subscription with up to six members each having their own account with their
own content.

OK. Great! Thanks.

2 related questions.

So, will a member of a Family account be able to sign up at some future point
for an individual account and have access to all their uploaded, unmatched
music, as well as any purchases or favorite items in an established playlist
they had when a member of the Family group?

And,will a member of a Family group have access to uploaded, unmatched music
another member of the Family group may have uploaded?

Thank, Keith

All family members sharing an Apple Music subscription with the family
organizer will have their own Apple Music account so to speak.

Hi,

I don't think divorce is in the cards for me at this point, but I am curious as
to how the Family option with AppleMusic would handle something like this.

If Family members pool their personal music libraries by uploading to a Family
account with AppleMusic, and in the future a split of some sort occurs, what
happens to the pooled music in AppleMusic? Does it all stay with the Family
Account organizer, or is it accessible to the split off member in some manner?
I mean, if a husband has a library of classical music and wife has a library of
folk music, both sharing a Family AppleMusic account with the husband as
organizer, and a split occurs, does the husband then get to keep the whole kit
and caboodle, leaving the wife without her music?
