It's an error message, but the wording of it is also in error.

Hey, well the good news is the issue is looking like it is cord specific
very strange as the cord I am having issues with I am still getting the
error message, but it came with another identical 10 foot cord which I
hooked up last night and that one is fine, so strange that it worked for 7
months and as of the update I started getting the error message that it is
not an approved iPhone cord yet the other same identical cord works fine.
Weird stuff.

Monoprice is good about replacing or crediting for merchandise that has
gone bad or is defective. In fact, last we checked, they're not selling
that one anymore or at least it was out of stock. We ended up just getting

I have 2 Monoprice 10 foot cables and 2 Amazon Basics 8 foot lightning
cables and I have no issues with any of them. I can charge just fine and I
actually used one of the Amazon cables to connect my iPhone to the
computer when I did the 8.4 upgrade.

about them since the latest IOS update. As since I installed IOS 8.4 on
both my iPad and iPhone the lighting chargers no longer work as they get
the error message that says something like the cable is not compatible
with Apple or something along that line. You can click ok on the message
to get it to go away but even if you do the cable will not charge the
phone. You can unplug and plug back in but you keep getting the error
message making the chargers absolutely worthless. Anyone else having
charging issues with lighting cords they bought on Amazon? Update and
