Well, I just couldn't find a way to delete that particular entry and, as I said at the beginning of the thread, Siri had to do it for me.

Suppose that's good enough, but I'd still like to know how to delete entries, whatever their make-up.

The only two settings as far as ending time I have ever seen is an actual time, which by default is one hour after the start time. The other setting I have seen is no actual time, but ends on the same day as it starts. This is the setting if the all day setting is turned on. In Fantastical, if no time is given, then the all day setting is automatically turned on.

In Fantastical, after typing in your event, if you just swipe right, you will come to a details button. Double tap the details button and all of the event will appear so you can edit any of it that you choose. The all day selection is a toggle button, so just double tap to turn off or on. You can change the start or end times by just double tapping on them, then swipe right to the pickers and flick up and down to change each item.

Hope this helps.

Chris

No, this was non-ending, because I had no idea when it would end!

Can't look back on the settings now as it's gone completely.

I am assuming that by non ending, you are referring to repeating events, then by ending one, you mean to end a repeating event. Here is what I typed into Fantastical to make an event that repeats every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, then it stops repeating on August 19th, plus sets an alert of 30 minutes before the event.

morning meeting on July 25 at 10:30 AM repeating every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday repeating end August 19 alert 30 minutes

Hope this helps.

Yes, Fantastical is my choice now, thanks to Richard. I still couldn't find a way to end a non-ending event yesterday, without getting Siri to do it. How is that done, Richard?

Keith,
I just opened Fantastical 2 double tapped on new event.
Did the two finger double tap and dictated the following:
"Dr. Test july 27 at 9 AM alert 30 minutes"
Then I double tapped on the add button.
The event was correctly created with an alert of 30 minutes before.

Hi,

I can set Calendar events with alerts manually. It's a little cumbersome, but certainly do-able.

I can set Calendar events without alerts using Siri, and then go in and add alerts manually, but that, too, is a little cumbersome.

I haven't figured out if there is a way to add Calendar events with alerts using Siri, or some other means that is less cumbersome than the manual methods above.

Is there any way to do this and save a few steps. I make a fair number of Calendar events and benefit a lot from the alerts, so a little bit of extra efficiency would be welcome.

Thanks in advance, Keith
