While on the inbox screen, you can tap the edit button, and then you can select the ones that you wanted delete and then below that all the messages, at the very bottom will be a delete button this will delete all the messages that you've selected to delete. If there's just a thread that you want to delete, if you swipe down ones you'll hear delete, and then you can double tap on it.
