Does that change the setting globally for the website or any other apps one
uses FB in?

Go to the “More” button, down at the very most bottom right, and double tap
it. Then, flick right until you find where it says “Most Recent,” and double
tap that.
After doing this, the most recent posts will be at the top, and the more you
scroll down, the older they will get. That’s the only way I know to do sort of
what you’re asking.
