Hi, if all thee other things fail.
try deleting KNF reader from your phone.
then go into the apps store, and double tap on downloads.
then look for purchased items. double tap on that, and keep swiping, until
you find the app you are wanting to download again, in this case KNF reader.
double tap on that, and you should be able to download it again.

I'm confused. You say that the only way you see updates is by opening the
app store app and going to the updates tab. If you have automatic updates
turned off, this is the only way that you should be able to see when you've
