Hi All,
You might remember that I purchased an iPhone 5S from Gazelle to
test the iOS 9 beta, rather than risk my iPhone 6. Finally,
being happy enough with the beta, I gave my iPhone 5S to my
sighted brother when in Kentucky just over three weeks ago. By
the way, up until then, my brother was quite happily using the
iPhone 4 I purchased from Aman Singer and gave to him in late
2011.
Anyway, as for my question, I'm wondering why Siri came up and
asked how she could help Vicky when he launched her for the first
time today? Before I had given him the 5S, I had gone to
settings, general, reset and then erase all content and settings.
He then had restored the iPhone 5s from an iTunes backup of that
iPhone 4 he had been using. And, he does have his own apple ID,
which is completely separate from mine, with no family sharing or
anything.
I did tell him to go to settings, general, siri and then my info
to fix things, but I was still quite surprised when he told me
that Siri came up offering to help me rather than him. I'm
reasonably sure I would have cleared my information off that
iPhone 4 before giving it to him, although I can't say that I
remember what the exact reset process was back at the end of
2011. But, I normally do the reset as I mentioned earlier, and
then press the home button three times to make sure Voiceover
comes on and I am at the setup screen.
