Neil, you were probably very wise to buy both keyboards. I try to get away with the 811 on my surface pro, but it didn't work properly. I spoke with logitech representative who stated that they were delay issues that affected how the keys would respond. So in effect, I'm glad I have both, and I think you were wise to do the same.
