If I want to buy the new ipad mini 4, it looks like I'll be stuck with
Itunes 12.3.

Just a quick note to those of you who are still using iTunes 11.
The time has come to say goodbye. That is to say, if you update your phone
to iOS 9, you will need to update to iTunes 12.x in order to manage the
phone on your computer.
While I do miss my beloved iTunes SideBar, I must admit that iTunes 12, in
some ways, feels a little more responsive and works better for me, on
Windows, via ZoomText.
Still, iTunes will never be the same without that SideBar, so to speak (sad
smile).
