If this is indeed how Apple decides to fix something that is probably broken 
for all users and does not need to be reproduced, somewhat like the reporting 
of the number of messages in an email thread, it is a very poor and inefficient 
way of addressing issues. There are more messages posted to this list begging 
people to email [email protected] than probably anything else. At least 
it seems that way to me right now.

I agree. The only reason I won't be reporting this bug is because I've never 
used the camera with VO, so would literally have no idea what I was on about. 
But I really think anyone who does should report it, along with any/all the 
other bugs they come across. After all, that's exactly what Apple asked us all 
to do in their last response to me.
