I just sent a detailed report to Apple accessibility. I connected a Braille Edge 40 to my iPhone 5S and went to write a new Email. In the too field, I wrote "access" which should have brought up [email protected] but I couldn't get out of the field. I toggled the onscreen keyboard on and typed "access" on it and the [email protected] address came up like it should and I double tapped on it. I then touched the subject field and without pausing did the space bar plus dots 3,6 to make sure it was editing and wrote the word "braille" and hit space. What I heard was "accessbraille." So, when I thought I was typing in the To Field, which said it was editing and that was true because when I used the onscreen keyboard the letters went into the to field, the braille display was somehow typing into the subject line. How crazy is that?
Anyone having braille display issues needs to write to [email protected] And give a detailed report. The overall braille responsiveness is back, which is great, but not helpful if focus is all over the place. When I use my Apex or other Braille displays that I have worked with on my IPhone with IoS 9.0 after typing in an edit field whether I'm in the messages or mail app I can not use dot four chord or move to each field any other way. It seems that Braille is broken in this version of IOS. It doesn't matter whether I have the quick nav on or off and I've tried resetting the phone as well as my apex. Is anyone else having an issue using a braille display with IOS 9 and if so is there a way around it? -- Rebecca and Zeb email: [email protected] -- The following information is important for all members of the VIPhone list.
